This is a very good vid, like almost 5 minutes long and has a picture-in-picture demonstration of how to do tricks. Should give everyone a good idea of how to do Ubers.

This video shows another picture in picture, without the narration - you really get a feel of the game here. And the graphics are KILLER. :yes And you see the confusion in the guy playing because he's not sure the way the control works.

Notes:

From the video, it looks like you play as the established characters in Career Mode - at least they listened to us in that respect. Those tokens you see are challenges, at one point the screen says "Push A to start challenge".

The vid is pretty self explanatory, the button on the bottom of the Wiimote auto-corrects your character, you see him flick it on large jumps.

When the character falls on the ground, they're covered in snow, which flicks off as they ski. Awesome, that is. :yes

The Groove meter is the frickin Boost Meter. Another rename for no reason (SOT-itis) :heh

It looks like a little icon shows where your remote is pointing at the end of the vid. It looks like a small blue X that trails snowflakes. :)

There's a track sign at the end of the vid, but I can't make out what track it is. Doesn't Metro City come after Happiness in SSX 3? Is that what that sign says?

At this point, I would call this game SSX Greatest Hits married to the Wii controls. :yes

The squeaky boot/binding noise when he tweaked that nose grab to method at the end was SICK! It totally sounded like a tweaked grab on a new set-up. Very cool. :thumbsup

Nicolas is a party animal, too: "YOOBER TRICKS"! :woot Rad.

Anyone else notice how he said they took tracks from "every SSX"? I hope that's true and not just an exagerration that he let slip out during his narration.

Also, with this new Wii system, will there be no prewinding before jumps for extra spin? :???

I don't think so, because I haven't seen a "jump" button - jumping is done by yanking the nunchuk upwards, not by pressing anything. My guess is you just spin at full capacity all the time, no prewinding needed.

Argh. That sounds possible, easily. I hope we're wrong though and there's still some means to prewind.

Hell, there's prewinding in real snowboarding to spin harder, so I'd hope they'd include that for this latest SSX.

They definitely fixed some things that were horribly wrong in OT.
Even though I'll never own a wii I am still very excited for this game, even more so than I was for OT.

:woot
Unfortunately it looks like they will be mute again, unless of course this is still the rough, unfinished version of the game .
I don't know anything about game creation so I could be completely wrong, but considering the February release date I think that the chances of characters having in-game voices are pretty small. :(

YAY! That means they fixed the map/menu as well :cheers . I hate the fact that in OT they didn't allow us to go on a freeride and spontaneously and seamlessly choose to go to competition or challenges without going back to the menu.

Very subtle little touch but very cool nevertheless.

In this case they should have called it Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Meter or CTS Meter for short :lol . Sorry, but I still loathe wii's gimmicky piece of crap controller.
At least ubertricks are again called uber tricks. I wonder if the old monster tricks are back as well?

I don't think they kept the same layout of the BIG mountain. Remember, Happiness was all the way at the top of the first peak, but here, before entering Happiness, Mac goes trough some area with funky gates on both sides which means that in this layout Happiness is not at the top of the first peak.
In SSX3 Snow Jam and Crow's Nest come after Happiness but the writing on the sign seems to be too long to be either one of those.

I think there's some new stuff and video's at IGN, i haven't checked it yet, only got an e-mail about it. Looks like there may be four or so new vids and an article.

Yeah, it's nothing new. Just a rehash of the gamespot articles and more generic riding down happiness. The tricking is a little better all around though.

Ah, I don't think it'll be that big of a loss. If you wind at top speed from the very start, there's no reason to prewind. I think it's just the removal of one more button and an obstacle that newbies always had to overcome before they got good. EA's got this right I think - the Wii's about attracting new people to the series, and removing the prewind function means that people can feel like they're kicking ass right out of the box, so to say. :yes That's an important part to getting them to stick with the series and getting them to come back.

We dont' know that - it's stilll a month and half to the game, the riders still might say stuff. We tore into them just as harshly for the silence of On Tour as much as we did for leaving the characters out. They're probably just still in the recording phases and don't want to include a feature that's unfinished.
