Okay, just a quick techie question:

I know the PS3 site says there's no problem at all with SSX3 in terms of compatibility. Which initially seems the case when I play it. But spekaing personally, I can't make it more than about 10 minutes into the game without it freezing for no apparent reason.

Anyone else experience this?

There has been discussion of the already...here http://merqurycity.com/ssx_forum/viewtopic.php?t=7237&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc

Basically you will need to do a firmware update.

Don't ask me how as I don't have a PS3 :rolleyes

Yeh the game does freeze up, all i can suggest is try to avoid high/big air jumps in a race (works for me) and save after every couple of races............until a decent firmware is released this will happen.

Its up to ver1.93, I've been meaning to check to see if the other games even work yet, tricky was the closest with the loading screen but the game froze as the race started.

update on firmware

ssx, tricky and OT will still not work (PS2 only)

SSX3 - still freezes on a high jumps, so either play on the PS2 or stay close to the ground on PS3 :)

I just read that the 80GB version of the ps3 to be released after sony finishes selling through the remainder of stock of 60GB ps3s is dropping the emotion engine altogether and sticking with emulation software that is already on the european playstation3s.

My ps2 died 6 months ago..funny thing is it will play dvds just fine, just no ps2 games. a week later my xbox died. that was a bad week lol guess I am going to have to buy another ps2 at some point if the ps3 doesn't support ssx3 playback.

The emotion engine went out the window as soon as the PS3 hit he UK, so its firmware from now on. The daft thing is that if they knew they were gonna drop it for firmware, then why didnt they get the emulators up and running first.

Oh well....just gotta wait now :)

If you wanna play SSX then yep , your better off getting a PS2 for now.
