This is the only Gaga song I like, and I'm also a big (guilty) listener of Katy Perry. Fell in love with her first song, Hot and Cold, Fireworks and now Last Friday Night. Can't really stand much of the mainstream stuff other than the Alternative songs MuchMusic plays.

James Horner is pretty good at that stuff. A lotta people dig on Danny Elfman as a composer and I'll admit he's good but there's something about Horner scores than can hit you hard. "The Land Before Time" comes to mind.

I don't see why I should feel guilty for liking a song that uses that chord progression. that sequence of chords resonates with a lot of people so it makes sense to use it if it fits the song you're trying to write.

oh yeah. Here's something else that some would consider a guilty pleasure. AOR. Now don't get confused. AOR is a genre of rock that stands for airplay oriented rock. This band just so happens to play it so well that they decided they could get away with just calling themselves AOR. It kinda works. Anyway, here you go:
