Have any of you guys been watching Death Note? Holy crap, I haven't thought an anime was this awesome since I watched the first few episodes of Full Metal Alchemist.

Someone really put in some time thinking of the plot of this one. It's just so damn good. If you all like anime in the slightest, watch this one. It's honestly a thinking man's anime - not that repetitive stuff like Naruto and DBZ is bad, but Death Note is original in each and every episode.

Damn good stuff. Go L!

Love One piece, and Naruto at the moment. Having developed some "Twisted crush" on Kisame but thats probably because he looks like Grimmjow.

I love bleach and FMA too. Outlaw star is another good one, and gunslinger girl as well.

Gondee I hate you!! I told you about this series months ago and now you finally get around to watching it. Anyways the ending was a let down in my opinion, a real series killer.

Can anyone tell me why anime is so popular? To me, it looks like just about every other cartoon, except with outdated animation and design. What is the difference? Do you guys just like horrible voiceovers and animation?

Don't be so critical, I like it cos of the manga it's usually based on the manga style.

@ Gondee: I thought Death note was lame, it was so depressing and boring. Raitu is a homicidal manioac he just fails. I never got attatched to ANY of the characters, hot crush or otherwise, Ryuk was cool but that was about it. The whole story concept depressed me and I never got sucked in like I did One piece and Naruto. Bleach took me a while to get into but that's awesome now.

I genuinely don't understand the appeal of anime that everyone else sees.

If you can't explain it, say so. :\

The American dub is generally awful so I can understand if thats what you know of anime fair enough. I can understand why people DONT watch it, it's got to be tolerated, the downloading every week the keeping up with the series exct. The art does look weird but its just ART.

I watch anime because I like the art, and god One piece has awful art but because the STORY is so good in most anime's I get hooked on it. The stories the characters and stuff. I don't have the appeal to western programmes like hey arnold and spongebob because half of the time there's no story and it sucks. It's random, it tries to be funny but there's only so far you can go before a fart joke gets old.

I have all the subbed death notes, only watched the first one though. i keep meaning to go back to it. i loved what i saw though. it's a short series, 30 something eps i believe.

You should watch them if you're in an anime dry spell Vix. I don't mind the English dubs in most series I watch. A few are lame (Naruto mainly) but most are fine.

Ive noticed you've watched a handfull of animes, and one of my friends just turned me on to this new one. Nothing like it in a class of its own and gets you thinking. Anyways its called Death Note you can find it on youtube or if you want a bigger picture you can find it on bit torrent, so far there is 10 episodes as it is still airing in Japan. Let me know what you think, and I hear from how long the manga ran it should go 39+ episodes.

[hide]Well, I'm anticipating the Noitora Kenpachi fight, it's about time he got his ass handed to him, and n ot just because he resembles Marylin Manson either.

It's sort of lame Nell turned back into the kid again it would have been nice to see her kick Noitora's ass herself. This attack n Heuco Mundo genuinly surprised me I thought they were leading up to some terrific great big war like attack, and that they would literally go in fight a few hollows comeout again with Orihime.
