All I could do is shake my head when I saw the iFruit. Oh dear. It's a nothing, yet changes my perception of the game to take it a little less seriously...

But anyway, what I came here to say is that I am having second thoughts about this game. I haven't read, or seen, or heard anything new! Just based on games I have been having fun with recently such as Hitman: Absolution, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and Dead Space 2 vs games I have not enjoyed recently like Sleeping Dogs and Batman: Arkham City - I am not sure whether GTAV will be a game that I am going to enjoy... but I have no knowledge on the subject! Hoping that this will be the first GTA (and first game of this genre in fact) that delivers to me!

Its grand theft auto, they dont even take themselves seriously.

I can expect some laughs from this game too. I feel like its a balance between serious and just batshit comical.

Yeah true. I always play from a serious perspective though and I like the story lines to be "serious" for the sake of immersion. The humor should be real humor. I think when there are silly things then I might lose that immersion a bit. While GTAIV was a disappointment to me, I had high hopes and knew and wanted it to be something I could get really involved in. But yeah, heres hoping for V :)

When ever i do feel serious, i kinda interpret the game as the world in the main characters eyes. In niko's world, people are bitter, backstabbing, lying, and overall ignorant people, but were still very terrifying people. Society is just fucking clueless. The city has no control of itself, the people in it are weak and blind, and security stops nothing, its a small inconvenience to these ruthless criminals and the only way to stay alive is to make connections.

But yeah, when you just executed Dwayne, and then you see on tv republican space rangers, kinda ruins the whole thing...

i felt gta iv took itself way too seriously. i personally didn't like niko as the main character. i hope v brings back some of the zaniness from vice and sa.

I did not like Bellic much either, but I did like the dark theme that I felt in GTAIV.

what bugged me about him was his constant whining about wanting to leave the life of crime and then in his next breath saying he'd do anything to get his way. it was just annoying to me.

oh hey i'm posting?

maybe i don't know what the eff i'm talking about when it comes to game physics, but i enjoyed the physics of GTA IV more than the other GTAs, and the car handling for that matter. it felt new and different and it worked. i think it felt more fluid and less... clunky than the old ones? i dono.

also, i just beat Saints Row 3, and i don't wanna offend any SR fans out there but, the entire time i was playing it i just wanted it to be GTA. SOOO BADDDDDD.

but i'm stoked for this new game! like, really stoked.

I might have felt differently about the physics (in particular the vehicle handling) had I not been playing Split/Second prior. But I played to the bank robbery in the second island, and I probably would have completed the game if it hadn't crashed at the cutscene after the robbery. I couldn't progress.

I really dislike Trevor, I know rockstar can do better than generic.... genericness.

Frank and Mike are Badass

^ i would say Mike is the most generic. he's sort of boring. his part makes you feel bad for him and makes it seem like he shouldn't be the kind of person in a GTA game.

i vote for Franklin. Trevor kinda bugs.

SO STOKED

Oh, i thought the point of mike was to make this boring person amazing... (hard to judge from the trailer now that i look again.) Kinda like that breaking bad feel.

Not in the good guys go bad way, but in the "This is our legendary felon?" kind of texture.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/grand-theft-auto-v-features-mandatory-install-and-two-xbox-360-discs-6410978

Quote:
Rockstar says that the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will feature an 8GB mandatory installation.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs, but adds that players won't be required to swap discs when playing.

Instead, the first Grand Theft Auto V disc features a mandatory 8GB install, which means console owners without sufficient storage will need to secure either a hard drive or a USB stick.

"If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use," wrote Rockstar in a Q&A post. "A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance."

Once installed, the game will be played entirely from the second disc.

The PlayStation 3 version, meanwhile, will ship on one Blu-ray disc and will also feature a mandatory 8GB install. This will take place when the game is first played.

Rockstar also added that the multiplayer component to GTAV is called Grand Theft Auto Online and that more information about the game's online modes will be released in the summer.

Elsewhere, Rockstar also reiterated its position on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. "We don't have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time," said the publisher.

Grand Theft Auto V will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17.

I really am not liking the three character storyline and I am definitely not liking that characters have stats. That makes me worry that it's gonna be like SA in that you have to eat and work out and sim shit like that. IF it, when it increases, it stays that way, I'll be fine with it. I always hated being in the middle of a mission and having the pop up every five seconds telling me I need to eat or I'm gonna lose muscle mass.
