If a New Player submits for one of the Top 3 Spots & for both Race or Showoff Records, this Player will have to provide solid proof of his or her claim so the New Score or New Time can get VERIFIED by this Fan Site!

All claims sent for any one of these 3 Top Spots will be listed upon reception of the Submission Form but they will be marked as Italic Text on the Record list! The Player will then be given 14 days for a First Place score, and 30 days for a Second or Third place score to submit further proof such as screenshot.

If such proof is not forthcoming, the score will be REMOVED and placed on the "Pending Verification" page. The score will remain on that page for an undetermined amount of time, until such amount of entries forces it to be removed. After that, players will have to re-submit scores in order to have them listed on the scoreboard.

In the event of a tie (a good likelihood in stiff competition), favor will be shown to the entry that was sent in FIRST, and the tying entry will be listed below, though at the same place as the other. (Two Number one submission will be listed, though the first entry will be listed on top.

Submissions DO NOT require verification if the score (in cumulative points for Showoff, or time for Racing) is inferior to the one listed for Bronze Medal. (This applies on all Venues but you can still send us proofs, screenshots & even video tapes if you would like us to VERIFY your Run.) Verified runs will always be given preference over unverified scores.

After the first month of competition, Top 3 place scores will now be subject to a new challenge verification system. The most noticeable difference with this new system is the ability of Top 3 holders to challenge any new score that displaces their own, and that are verified in any other matter other than video. While it will still be permissible to verify your scores with screenshot, the only way to be completely safe is to have a Team Merqury City member view you enough of your winning run to be sure you did not use any sort of game enhancement device to achieve your score.

How can you verify with video? Well, the easiest way is to capture your video in a short 30 second clip and send it to the scoreboard at Merqury City (gondee@merqurycity.com) or FirebrandX at Twingalaxies. Make sure that the clip is long enough for us to verify that you did NOT use any sort of code, device or other game altering technique. While this is the easiest way, Merqury City realizes that most people don't have a method of capturing video easily. Hence, a more basic method: record your run on regular VHS videotape and send it to FirebrandX at Twin Galaxies. He has the ability to verify the run for both Twin Galaxies, the official Video Game World Records Site, and for Merqury City. Again, to reiterate, it is still possible to verify your scores with screenshots or walkthrough, but they will still be open to challenge from previous record holder unless you verify your score via video. If a displaced record holder challenges your score, you will have 4 weeks to send video to either Merqury City or Twin Galaxies. Again, this is to make sure the integrity of the SSX Fan Site Scoreboard remains somewhat intact. And with that said, we now go back to regular rules. :)

Note also that best of all, most players listed in the Top 3 Spots for both Showoff & Race Records have become well-known Players in the SSX Community. They are in fact sometimes Team Merqury City Members! Their Runs have been VERIFIED and this is done via Digital Photo, FAQ, Video Tape or Walkthrough, to protect the integrity of this Fan Site and to keep bogus scores off from the Scoreboard!
