About the PAL vs. NTSC issue on PS2 Systems...

Submissions from BOTH PAL (Europe) & NTSC (Japan, North America) PS2 Systems are accepted. For each one of the SSX Record list, all submitted High Scores & Fast Times for the two Systems will be listed together.

What is the deal here? Read what TwinGalaxies posted about the PAL vs. NTSC issue back in the Summer of 2001: "PAL Systems run at a refresh rate that is 20% slower than the NTSC Systems here in the U.S. (and most other countries). Reference http://www.tenlab.com/worldtv.htm for a more elaborate explanation. As a result, playing most video games on a PAL T.V. System results in a "built-in slow motion effect," allowing a Player more time to act and react to what happens on the screen, which is more more conducive to higher scores or slower times. The staff at TwinGalaxies.com maintains two separate sets of World Records for each T.V. System specifically because of this issue."

Normally there is a distinct framerate and speed difference between PAL and NTSC systems when playing. However, it has been told to us by the programmers at EA that SSX 3 in both regions runs at the same speed on ALL SSX 3 Games for ALL regions all across the world. Therefore, this concern is NOT a problem for the SSX 3 Scoreboard and ALL competitors are playing on an equal playing field! All entries to the scoreboard will be listed on the same table and all competitors will have no disadvantages. That means competition is fair and square!

If anybody has any other info about this, please write to scoreboard@merqurycity.com & let us know what you know.

Thanks in advance!
